Shoe Size Converter

Convert shoe sizes between US, UK, EU, JP and CN — men, women and kids.

Shoe sizing differs across regions. This tool converts between the four most common systems using standard charts.

⚠️ Sizes are approximate and vary by brand and style. Always check the manufacturer’s size chart and measure your feet for the best fit.

How to use

  1. Pick Men, Women, or Kids.
  2. Choose the size system you know (US, UK, EU, or JP/CM).
  3. Type the size — all other systems show instantly.

About this tool

All conversion happens in your browser — no data is sent anywhere.

How it works

Shoe sizing runs on three different rulers. The EU uses the Paris point: each size is ⅔ cm, so EU size ≈ foot length in cm × 1.5. The US and UK use the barleycorn (⅓ inch per size) from different zero points, which is why US men’s runs exactly 1 above UK men’s. Mondopoint — used in Japan and China — skips the games and prints foot length in millimetres directly.

The handy cross-links: US women’s ≈ US men’s + 1.5, and EU ≈ (US men’s + 31) within half a size for the common range. None of this is exact across brands — lasts differ, and that is why trying on still matters.

Measure in the evening, when feet are slightly swollen, standing with weight on the foot. Leave about a thumb’s width (∼1 cm) ahead of your longest toe; if you are between sizes in athletic shoes, most fitters say go up.

Worked examples

27 cm foot: Foot measures 27.0 cm standing. That is about EU 41, US men’s 9, UK 8, JP 27.0 — then check the brand’s chart, since Nike and Adidas size differently.

US women’s 8: US W8 ≈ 24.1 cm → EU 38.5, UK 6. Ordering EU shoes: 38.5 is often rounded to 39, so compare centimetres, not the size number.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my size differ from the brand’s chart?

Manufacturers use slightly different lasts and measuring methods. This tool uses standard conversion charts; always check the brand’s own guide for critical purchases.

What does JP / CN (cm) mean?

Japanese and Chinese sizes are based on foot length in centimeters, so a JP 27 means a 27 cm foot.

Are kids’ sizes the same everywhere?

Kids’ sizing varies more than adult sizing. Use this as a starting point and measure the child’s foot.
