Screen Recorder
Record your screen — a tab, a window or the whole display — with optional microphone narration, then download the video.
This screen recorder uses the capture built into your browser — the same screen-sharing used by video calls. The video is assembled on your device and never uploaded, streamed or stored by us; if you close the tab without downloading, the recording is gone. There is no install, no watermark and no time limit set by us.
How to use
- Tick "Add microphone narration" first if you want to talk over the recording, and pick the right microphone.
- Press "Start recording" and choose a tab, window or the entire screen in the browser picker. Tick "share audio" in that picker if the recording needs the tab or system sound.
- Do the thing you are recording, then come back and press "Stop & save" (or stop from the browser sharing bar). Play the result back and download it.
About this tool
What gets recorded is your choice in the browser picker: a single tab (best for demos, and it follows you if you switch tabs inside it), one window (best for apps), or the entire screen (best for multi-app walkthroughs, but it shows everything — notifications included). Close or mute anything private before you choose the whole screen.
Format note: Chrome, Edge and Firefox produce WebM video, which plays in every modern browser and uploads cleanly to YouTube and most helpdesk tools. Safari produces MP4. If a specific system insists on MP4 and you recorded WebM, any free video converter can re-encode it.
Frequently asked questions
Is my screen uploaded or streamed anywhere?
No. Capture, assembly and playback all happen locally in your browser. The only way a recording leaves your device is if you download it and share the file yourself.
Can it record sound as well?
Yes, two kinds. Tick "share audio" in the browser picker to include tab or system sound where the browser supports it, and tick "Add microphone narration" here to talk over the recording. The two are mixed together automatically.
Why did it stop when I clicked the browser Stop sharing bar?
That bar ends the screen share itself, which ends the recording — the tool saves what was captured up to that point, exactly as if you had pressed Stop here.
Why is there no screen option on my phone?
Mobile browsers do not offer web pages a screen-capture API. Use a desktop or laptop browser for screen recording; phones have their own built-in screen recorders in the system quick settings.
How big will the file be?
Roughly 1–5 MB per minute for a typical tab or window at its natural size, more for full-screen fast-moving content. The size counter on this page shows the recording growing as you go.
