How to Embed a Verystep Tool on Weebly or Square Online

Two editors share one name — and only one of them gates the embed behind a paid plan.

On Weebly’s classic editor, embed a Verystep tool with the Embed Code element: drag it onto the page, click “Edit Custom HTML”, paste the snippet. That works on every plan, free included. In the newer Square Online editor the equivalent “Embed code” section only appears on paid plans, so free Square Online sites cannot add the frame.

Which editor are you in?

Weebly sites come in two generations. The classic Weebly editor has a left-hand rail of elements you drag onto the page — if that is what you see, you are in luck: its Embed Code element is available on all plans. The newer Square Online editor builds pages from sections instead, and its Embed code section is a paid-plan feature; on the free plan the option simply is not there. Thirty seconds spent identifying your editor saves an hour of hunting for a button that does not exist on your plan. The embed overview tracks gates like this across platforms.

Step by step (classic Weebly editor)

  1. Open the tool and copy its embed code — the example below is the Countdown Timer.
  2. Drag the Embed Code element onto your page where the tool should sit.
  3. Click the element, then Edit Custom HTML, and paste the snippet.
  4. Click outside the element to set it, then check the page preview.
  5. Publish. If the frame clips the tool’s bottom edge, raise the snippet’s height from 520 in steps of 40.

Step by step (Square Online editor, paid plans)

  1. Copy the tool’s embed code as above.
  2. In the site editor, choose Add section on the page and pick Embed code.
  3. Paste the snippet into the section’s code field and save.
  4. Preview on desktop and mobile widths, adjust the height if needed, and publish.

Worked example

The exact snippet from the Countdown Timer’s embed box:

<iframe src="https://verystep.com/embed/countdown/" title="Countdown Timer" width="100%" height="520" loading="lazy" style="border:0"></iframe>

If something looks wrong

There is no Embed Code element anywhere. You are almost certainly in the Square Online editor on a free plan, where the feature is paid. Your choices: upgrade, or link to the tool instead of embedding it.

The frame shows but the tool is cut off. Height again — the single most common embed issue on every platform. Edit the snippet’s height value upward until the whole tool fits.

The snippet printed as text. It landed in a text element rather than the Embed Code element’s custom HTML field. Move it; text elements display code, they do not run it.

Similar drag-and-drop builders: Wix uses an HTML iFrame element with no plan gate, and Google Sites has an Embed option in its Insert menu. Full list on the embed overview.

Frequently asked questions

Is embedding free on Weebly?

On the classic Weebly editor, yes — the Embed Code element works on every plan including free. In the newer Square Online editor, the Embed code section is limited to paid plans.

How do I know which editor I have?

The classic editor shows a rail of draggable elements (Text, Image, Embed Code) on the left. The Square Online editor instead offers “Add section” with pre-built section types. Elements versus sections is the tell.

Why is the bottom of my embedded tool missing?

The iframe’s height is too small for that tool in your column width. Raise the height number in the snippet — 520 is a starting point, not a promise — until everything fits.

Can I embed a tool in a Weebly blog post?

Yes. Blog posts in the classic editor accept the same Embed Code element as pages; in Square Online, add the Embed code section to the item page where available.
