Dice Roller

Roll any dice — d4 to d100, multiples included.

Tabletop RPGs run on polyhedral dice — this roller covers the full set with cryptographic randomness.

How to use

  1. Pick your die (d4–d100) and how many to roll.
  2. Add a modifier for RPG-style rolls like 2d6+3.
  3. The total appears big; individual dice below.

About this tool

Modifiers apply after the roll, exactly like tabletop rules.

How it works

The roller simulates fair polyhedral dice with cryptographic randomness — each face has exactly 1/n probability. Notation follows tabletop convention: "2d6" means roll two six-sided dice and sum them; "d20" is a single twenty-sided die.

Sums of multiple dice form a bell curve (the central limit theorem in miniature): 2d6 totals cluster around 7, while a single d12 is perfectly flat. That is why game designers use different dice for different jobs — d20 for swingy checks, 3d6 for predictable ones.

Worked examples

Game night: No dice handy? Roll 4d6 for character stats straight from your phone.

Decision die: Assign six options to faces 1–6 and let a d6 pick your restaurant.

Quick reference

DieRangeTypical use
d41–4Small damage, daggers
d61–6The classic cube
d81–8Medium weapons
d101–10Percentiles (with d100)
d121–12Heavy weapons
d201–20Skill checks, attacks
d1001–100Percentage rolls

Frequently asked questions

What does 2d6+3 mean?

Roll two 6-sided dice, add them, then add 3.

Is it fair?

Yes — crypto.getRandomValues, the browser’s secure random source.

Can I roll 100 dice?

Up to 20 at once, which covers nearly every game need.
