Whitespace Normalizer

Clean up messy spacing, tabs and line breaks.

Copy-pasting from PDFs, Word and web pages mangles spacing — double spaces, trailing tabs, random blank lines.

How to use

  1. Paste text with messy spacing.
  2. Tick the cleanups you want.
  3. Click Clean up and copy the result.

About this tool

This normalizer fixes the common issues with toggleable rules.

Your text never leaves your browser.

How it works

Messy spacing usually comes from copying between applications: double spaces, tabs mixed with spaces, trailing spaces at line ends, and Windows (CRLF) versus Unix (LF) line breaks. The normalizer collapses runs of spaces and tabs into single spaces, trims each line, and unifies line endings.

It also collapses multiple blank lines into one and strips the non-breaking spaces that word processors sneak in. Everything happens with simple string operations — no data ever leaves your browser.

Worked examples

Pasted table: A spreadsheet copied into an email arrives with ragged tabs — normalize it before sending.

Code cleanup: Strip trailing whitespace from a config file so version-control diffs stay clean.

Frequently asked questions

Will it change my words?

No — only whitespace characters are touched, never the text itself.

What about non-breaking spaces?

They are treated as regular spaces for collapsing.

Is my text uploaded?

No — 100% local.
