Powerball Number Generator
Generate random Powerball lines in the real format — 5 white balls from 1–69 plus a red Powerball from 1–26. No tickets sold, no predictions.
This generator produces random Powerball lines in the game’s exact current format: five white-ball numbers from 1 to 69, plus one red Powerball from a separate pool of 1 to 26. Powerball is drawn every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time, and matching all five white balls plus the Powerball wins the jackpot — a 1 in 292,201,338 chance per $2 play. Nothing here is a ticket or a prediction; it is a fair random pick, the same job a terminal Quick Pick does.
Generate Powerball lines below: five white balls from 1–69 and a red Powerball from 1–26, drawn as independent pools — exactly as the real game draws them.
Format and odds: Multi-State Lottery Association (Powerball). Last verified: November 2026. Want all six games in one place? Use the Lottery Number Generator.
Quick answers
What are the Powerball number ranges?
Five main numbers from 1 to 69, plus one Powerball from a separate pool of 1 to 26. The two pools are independent, so the Powerball can be the same value as one of your five main numbers.
That matrix has been in force since 7 October 2015. It produces 292,201,338 possible combinations, which is exactly the published jackpot odds: 1 in 292,201,338 per play. Draws are held Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
Can a number generator improve my Powerball odds?
No. Every combination of five white balls plus a Powerball has exactly the same 1 in 292,201,338 probability of being drawn. A generated line, a Quick Pick and your own favourite numbers are mathematically identical in chance.
What generation can improve is prize sharing, not probability. Birthday-based lines (all numbers 31 or below) are played by thousands of people, so if one wins, the jackpot is split many ways. Random lines spread over the full 1–69 range are less likely to collide with other winners.
How does this generator pick Powerball numbers?
It shuffles a pool of 1–69 and a separate pool of 1–26 in your browser using crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling, takes the first five and first one values respectively, and sorts the five main numbers. No repeats are possible inside the white balls; the Powerball is drawn independently.
Rejection sampling removes the small bias that plain modulo arithmetic would introduce, so each number in each pool is equally likely. Everything runs locally in the tab — your lines are never uploaded, stored or sent anywhere.
How to use
- Choose how many lines to generate: 1, 3 or 5.
- Click Generate numbers. The white balls are your five main numbers (1–69); the amber ball is the Powerball (1–26).
- Click again for a fresh set, or use Copy numbers to save the lines as text.
- If you play, transfer the numbers to an official Powerball ticket yourself before the sales cut-off for the Monday, Wednesday or Saturday draw — this site sells no tickets.
About this tool
The two-pool structure is the whole game. The white balls are drawn from one drum of 69 and the Powerball from a second drum of 26, which is why the Powerball can repeat one of your white-ball numbers and why matching it alone still pays the smallest prize, $4. There are nine prize tiers in total, and the overall chance of winning something is about 1 in 24.9 per play. An optional $1 Power Play add-on multiplies non-jackpot prizes; it changes payouts, never the numbers, so this generator has no setting for it.
Powerball’s current matrix dates from 7 October 2015, when the white-ball pool grew to 69 and the Powerball pool shrank to 26 — a change designed to make jackpots roll longer and grow larger. It worked: on 7 November 2022 a single California ticket won $2.04 billion, still the largest lottery jackpot ever won. A third weekly draw, on Mondays, was added on 23 August 2021. The game is run by the Multi-State Lottery Association and sold in 45 US states, Washington DC, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
Why use a generator at all? Not to beat the odds — a generated line and a hand-picked line have identical chances. The practical benefit is spread: hand-picked Powerball tickets cluster heavily on birthdays and anniversaries (1–31), so a winning birthday line is typically shared with many other winners. An even random spread across 1–69 does not raise your chance of winning; it lowers the chance of splitting the prize if you ever do. Last verified: November 2026.

Frequently asked questions
When are Powerball drawings held?
Every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time, from the draw studio in Tallahassee, Florida. The Monday draw is the newest of the three — it was added on 23 August 2021. Sales cut-off times are set by each state lottery and are usually about an hour before the draw.
What do I win for matching only the Powerball?
The smallest fixed prize, $4 — you get your stake back twice over on a base ticket. Matching the Powerball plus one or two white balls also pays small fixed prizes; there are nine prize tiers between that $4 and the jackpot.
What is Power Play, and does this generator use it?
Power Play is an optional $1-per-play add-on that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5 or (when the jackpot is below $150 million) 10; a Match 5 ticket with Power Play always pays $2 million. It is chosen when you buy a real ticket and has no effect on the numbers, so the generator does not model it.
How big has the Powerball jackpot ever been?
The record is $2.04 billion, won by a single ticket sold in California for the 7 November 2022 draw. Jackpots start at an estimated $20 million and roll with no cap until somebody matches all six numbers, which is how they reach headline sizes.
Are some Powerball numbers luckier than others?
No. Every number in the 1–69 pool is equally likely in every draw, and past results have no effect on future ones. Numbers that appear “hot” or “overdue” in frequency tables are just random clustering — the drums have no memory.
Can the Powerball be the same as one of my main numbers?
Yes. The Powerball is drawn from a separate drum of 1–26, independent of the white balls, so a line like 4-17-23-41-58 with Powerball 17 is completely valid.
