Image Resizer
Resize and crop images to standard dimensions — social media, passport, ID photos.
Different platforms need different image sizes. This tool resizes and crops locally in your browser.
How to use
- Choose an image from your device (it never leaves your browser).
- Pick a preset size or enter custom dimensions.
- Choose "Crop to fill" to fill the frame or "Fit inside" to avoid cropping.
- Preview, then download the resized PNG.
About this tool
Includes common presets for Chinese social media, passport, and ID photos.
Your images are never uploaded — everything happens on your device.
How it works
Platforms demand exact dimensions: a US passport photo must be 600×600 px (2×2 inches at 300 DPI); an Instagram post is 1080×1080. This tool resizes and crops to those presets in one step, so you never compute aspect ratios by hand.
Cropping discards pixels outside the target frame while resizing scales what remains. Doing both together — crop to the ratio first, then scale to the size — preserves maximum quality compared with scaling first and cropping after.
DPI only matters for print: 600×600 px at 300 DPI prints exactly 2×2 inches. On screen, only the pixel dimensions count. (Platform specs change occasionally — if a preset looks outdated, tell us via the contact page.)
Worked examples
A US visa photo: Choose the 2×2 in preset, upload a headshot, and download a 600×600 px JPEG — the exact spec the application portal expects, with no photo editor involved.
A LinkedIn cover: The 1584×396 preset crops a wide photo to LinkedIn's banner ratio, so the site does not auto-crop the important part out.
