How it works
Find and replace scans your text for every occurrence of the search string and swaps in the replacement. Matching can be case-sensitive or not, and whole-word mode avoids replacing "cat" inside "concatenate".
For pattern-based edits, regular expressions are supported: \d+ matches any run of digits, ^ anchors to line starts. Replacements run left to right in a single pass, so a replacement that creates new matches will not loop forever.
Worked examples
Rebrand: Replace all 47 mentions of "OldName" with "NewName" across a pasted document.
Reformat dates: Use the pattern (\d{4})-(\d{2})-(\d{2}) to pull ISO dates apart and rebuild them in any order.
