  3. Handy for sale season, coupons and comparing deals.

About this tool

Pair it with coupon hunting: a lower sale price plus a promo code stacks your savings even further.

Nothing you enter leaves your browser.

How it works

A discount removes a slice of the original price: savings = price x (discount / 100), and you pay price - savings. Equivalently, the sale price is price x (1 - discount / 100) — multiply the price by what remains after the discount.

When two discounts stack, the second usually applies to the already-reduced price, not the original. A 20% coupon on top of a 30% sale is not 50% off: it is 1 - (0.70 x 0.80) = 44% off the original.

Worked examples

35% off $79.99: Savings: 79.99 x 0.35 = $28.00 (rounded). You pay: 79.99 - 28.00 = $51.99.

Stacked: 30% sale plus 20% coupon on $100: Sale price: 100 x 0.70 = $70. Coupon applies to $70: 70 x 0.80 = $56. Total savings $44 — a 44% effective discount, not 50%.
